SAS Nagar (Mohali), October 16 (RNI) : Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh has assured of full protection by his government for the Badals in view of the enhanced threat perception to their lives.

He made the assurance while talking to mediapersons after inaugurating a state-of-the-art Vigilance Bhawan, built over an area of 3.25 acres in Sector 68 Mohali at a cost of Rs.31.29 crores.

Captain Amarinder said, in response to a question, that he was cognizant of recent reports of increased threat perception to the lives of former Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal and former deputy CM Sukhbir Singh Badal, and would ensure that full security is provided to the father-son duo.

In response to a question, Captain Amarinder said he was aware of the FIRs being registered against farmers who were burning paddy stubble in the fields in contravention of the prescribed guidelines of the National Green Tribunal, and his government was bound to go by the law, even though he was sympathetic to the problem of the farmers.

To a query regarding the separate memorandums submitted by Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP)leaders to the Punjab Governor in support of the demands of the agitating teachers, the Chief Minister said that the Government was fully seized of the matter and was trying its best to resolve the issue. He said that services of nearly 40,000 employees, including teachers, needed to be regularised, which may take some time in view of the fiscal crunch faced by his government.

Meanwhile, the Government has already given an option to the teachers to continue in the existing pay scale or join at the basic pay of 15,300 for three years before being regularized, said Captain Amarinder. The Chief Minister pointed out that the pay scale offered by the State Government was higher than the current central pay scale of 13,900. It was now upto the teachers to take an appropriate call, he added.

The new five storeyed Vigilance Bhawan is a sprawling complex, equipped with work stations for employees, training/conference hall, meeting room etc., designed to provide a congenial atmosphere for efficient functioning. . It will also house the vigilance police station that was earlier located in Phase-8. The building also conforms to the Energy Conservation Building Code (ECBC) to save electricity.

Rama Shanker Prasad 2019-01-16 09:06:46

Laxmikanta Nath 2019-01-15 19:40:45
Bhubaneswar, 15th January (RNI): While addressing a gathering on the opening day of the 5-day farmers’ convention Krushi Odisha-2019 in Bhubaneswar today, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik said that Krushak Assistance for Livelihood and Income Augmentation (KALIA) scheme will open new doors of development. “KALIA is an ideal scheme not only for Odisha but for the entire nation. It will open new doors of development. It is the largest scheme in the State with an expenditure of Rs 10,000 cr,” CM Naveen said. While the first phase registration under KALIA scheme will end today, the second phase will begin from January 25 and continue till February 5. CM Naveen added that KALIA scheme will benefit small farmers, sharecroppers and agricultural labourers of the State. Naveen’s Absence From PM Modi’s Official Programmes Is ‘Intentional’: Pradhan
Laxmikanta Nath 2019-01-15 19:40:42
Bhubaneswar, January 15 (RNI): Prime Minister Narendra Modi may have gone soft on the ruling-BJD once again, but Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan made sure he did not miss such opportunity and trained his guns on the State government during ‘Jabab Maguchhi Odisha’ programme in Bolangir today. Addressing the public rally, Pradhan stated that the Centre is committed towards all-round development of Odisha, but the State government is posing a big hindrance in such developmental activities. While PM Modi was present in Bolangir to launch several projects on infrastructure development, connectivity and ease of doing business, CM Naveen Patnaik at the same time was inaugurating the state-level annual farmers’ convention, ‘Krushi Odisha 2019’, at Biju Patnaik Ground in Baramunda, Bhubaneswar. Surprisingly, this is not the first instance when the State government is organising events on the same day the Prime Minister is scheduling his visits to the State to inaugurate developmental projects for the people of Odisha. It may look as a co-incidence to many, but Pradhan alleged such motive as intentional while terming it as a cheap politics of Odisha government. The last time Modi came to Odisha to inaugurate and lay foundation stones of several projects worth Rs 4500 crore in Baripada, the same day the BJD organised a Mission Shakti programme in Puri that somehow was seen as a strategy to counter the PM’s visit. “This time also we had invited CM Naveen to be a part of the government programme in Bolangir, but he did not accept our invitation. We thought he has interest towards West Odisha and would come to discuss with PM Modi and then put forth his demands. But Naveen Patnaik chose to do politics by organising another event in Bhubaneswar on the same day and it is quite clear he has not prioritised the development of Western Odisha.” Pradhan further slammed the government alleging poor irrigational facilities in Bolangir. “In the last 20 years, only 5 to 10 per cent irrigational activities have been done in Bolangir. The Lower Suktel Project started some 15 years back but still only 20 per cent has been finished. The displaced people are still awaiting rehabilitation and disbursal of compensation.” While BJD leaders are yet to respond on Pradhan’s allegations, CM Naveen, while inaugurating the Krushi Odisha 2019 programme in Bhubaneswar, mentioned that Odisha government had aimed to carry out irrigation in over 10 lakh hectares, of which only 2 hectares are left that is likely to be covered by the end of April this year.
Modi Slams Odisha Govt Over Non-Utilisation Of DMF Funds
Laxmikanta Nath 2019-01-15 19:04:13
Bhubaneswar, January 15 (RNI): Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday lashed out at the Odisha government alleging non-utilisation of District Mineral Foundation (DMF) funds towards the development of the areas and people affected by mining related operations. Addressing a huge gathering at Bolangir, Modi said that Odisha has over Rs 4000 crore in its DMF funds but it has so far remained unutilised. “What has happened to the Odisha government? When will it wake up from deep slumber? I urge the State government to use the funds for the benefit of people without keeping it for elections,” he said. BJP is committed to the development of Odisha but the State government’s failure in utilisation of the fund has added to the problems of people, alleged Modi, adding, “Money is there, people need it and it is their right, but the government is sleeping.” Modi also launched a scathing attack on the Congress accusing the oldest party of callousness and apathy towards protecting, preserving and promoting the rich cultural heritage and resources of India .
