आपल्यापैकी अनेकांनी अनेकदा रक्तदान स्वत:हून किंवा गरजेपोटी केले असेल. मात्र रक्तदान कधी, कुठे करावे आणि कोणती कोळजी घ्यावी या बाबी बघणेही तितकेच गरजेचे आहे. चुकीच्या ठिकाणी, चुकीच्या वेळी, तसेच चुकीच्या मार्गदर्शनाखाली जर रक्तदान केले तर अनेक आजार होण्याचा धोका असतो. त्यामुळे रक्तदान करतांना कोणती काळजी घ्यावी त्याबद्दल जाणून घेऊयात…

1) प्रथमतः तुम्ही रक्तदान करण्यासाठी पात्र आहात का नाही? हे बघणे जरूरी आहे. जर तुम्ही नुकतेच रक्तदान केले असेल, बाहेरगावी जाऊन आला असाल, शारीरिक संबंध केले असतील तर तुम्ही रक्तदान करण्यास थोडे दिवस तरी पात्र नाही.

2) रक्तदानापूर्वी शरीरातील आयर्न लेवल तपासून घेणे महत्वाचे आहे. कारण शरीरात जर लोहाचे प्रमाण जास्त असेल तरच तुम्ही रक्तदान करू शकता.

3) रक्तदान करण्याच्या किमान एक दिवस आधीपर्यंत दारूचे सेवन टाळावे. रक्तात झालेली दारूची भेसळ ही रूग्णाच्या आरोग्याकरिता फार धोकादायक आहे. त्याचप्रमाणे जर तुम्हाला स्मोकिंगचे व्यसन असेल तर किमान रक्तदानाच्या किमान एक तास आधी सिगारेटचे व्यसन करू नका.

4) रक्तदान करायला जात असतांना घट्ट कपडे घालू नका. शक्यतो सैल कपडे घाला.

5) जर तुम्ही स्वत:च आजारी असाल किंवा काही दिवसांपूर्वीच आजारातून उठला असाल तर रक्तदान करणे टाळा. प्लेटलेटस्, पेशी, प्लाजमाचे दान केले असेल तर तुम्ही रक्तदान करण्यास पात्र नाही. या गोष्टी रक्तदान झाल्यानंतरही काही काळ टाळा.

6) रक्तदानाच्या वेळी तुमच्या शरीरातील रक्ताचे प्रमाण कमी होते तसेच तुम्हाला अशक्तपणा जाणवू शकतो. त्यामुळे रक्तदान झाल्यानंतर द्रवपदार्थांचे सेवन जास्त करा.
