1 Dead In 'Possible Terror Attack' In Netherlands
Utrecht, March 18 (RNI): At least one person is dead and several others are injured in a shooting inside a tram in Utrecht, central Netherlands, on Monday morning.

A person, or a number of people, opened fire in a tram at the 24 Oktoberplein tram stop around 10:45 a.m., police said. Several shots were fired inside the tram, citing police spokesman Joost Lanshage.

The number of perpetrators involved the shooting is not clear. Police said they escaped and are on the loose, Algemeen Dagblad reported.

Officers are also investigating a possible terrorist motive for the shooting.

Heavily-armed anti-terror officers gathered in front of an apartment block close to the scene of the shooting around 1 p.m. local time, suggesting that a raid might take place soon.

They are watching major highways, minor crossings, and railway routes.

The number of victims and the extent of the injuries sustained is not clear. Many were taken to hospital, while at least three were resuscitated on the spot.

Mark Rutte, the Dutch prime minister, said he was "deeply concerned" and that he would hold crisis talks with senior government officials in response to the incident.
