New Delhi, 8 November 2019, (RNI): The constitution bench headed by Chief Justice Ranjan Gogoi will be pronouncing its verdict in the Ayodhya dispute at 10.30 am on Saturday. The five judge bench heard the Ayodhya matter for over 40 days on a daily basis and finished the hearings on October 16 to bring this prolonged dispute to an end.
Supreme Court’s verdict in the politically sensitive case of Ram Janmbhoomi-Babri Masjid land dispute in Ayodhya is likely to pronounced tomorrow.
A five-judge Constitution bench, headed by Chief Justice Ranjan Gogoi, had reserved the judgement on October 16 after a hard worked hearing of 40 days in the decades old temple-mosque dispute with the second longest proceedings in its history.
Ahead of the crucial judgement, the Centre deployed more than 4000 paramilitary forces. It is also said govt has decided to deploy two helicopters as a standby as a part of the security arrangements. According to reports, 20 jails temporary jails have also been set up.
The hearing in the dispute involving 2.77 acres of land is the second longest after the landmark Keshvanand Bharti case in 1973 during which the proceedings for propounding the doctrine of basic structure of the Constitution continued for 68 days.
